3. Weather & Packing

Q: "What’s the weather really like, and what should I pack?"
A:
"Estonia loves surprises! May-September can swing from crisp 10°C nights to sunny 30°C days. Rain showers? Always possible. Pack:

  • Layers: Light sweaters, waterproof jacket, breathable shirts.

  • Footwear: Comfortable walking shoes (no heavy boots needed—trails are well-maintained).

  • Essentials: Sunscreen, insect repellent, reusable water bottle.
Check the forecast 3 days before departure!"

  • And yes, leave the high heels at home — cobblestones and bogs don't play nice!"

4. Money & Costs

Q: "What’s the price level? Should I bring cash?"
A:
"Estonia uses euros. Prices are lower than Scandinavia but higher than Eastern Europe. Examples:

  • Coffee: €3-4

  • Dinner at a manor: €30-50
Credit cards work everywhere, but carry €50-100 cash for rural crafts or tips. ATMs are widely available."

Q: "What about local drinks?"
A:
"Estonia crafts superb craft beers (try Põhjala or Sori Brewing!) and unique juniper-infused gin (Gin Tallinn). Wine? We import—no vineyards here, but our berry liqueurs (sea buckthorn, cranberry) are legendary."

5. Meals & Inclusions

Q: "Are meals and entrance fees included? Should I tip?"
A:
"Yes, your tour is all-inclusive: accommodations, activities, private transfers, daily breakfasts, most lunches, and select gourmet dinners. Bring euros for personal treats like spa treatments, craft beer tastings, or that irresistible woolen scarf you’ll “accidentally” buy.
Tipping isn’t expected but appreciated for excellent service. Guidelines if you wish:

  • Restaurants: 5–10%

  • Guides: €5–10/day

  • Hotel porters: €1–2 per bag

6. What is not included?

Q. What is not included?
A:

  • Flights to/from Estonia

  • Alcoholic beverages at meals (unless stated otherwise)

  • Personal expenses (souvenirs, optional spa treatments)

7. Safety

Q: "Is Estonia safe? What about wildlife encounters?"
A:
"Estonia is one of Europe’s safest countries. Our bear hide experiences are non-intrusive and designed for respectful observation. No bear selfies, no bear hugs — just peaceful watching from a cozy hideaway! Our guides carry first-aid kits and enjoy mobile coverage even in remote areas."

8. Bear Hide Experience

Q: "What is the bear hide night like? Will it be comfortable?"
A:
"The bear hide is built for overnight comfort: cozy beds, comfortable seating, panoramic viewing windows, and  toilet inside. To reach the hide, we’ll walk approximately  400m along a forest trail — easy terrain but sensible shoes are a must.
This night offers one of Europe’s rarest wildlife experiences: a private window into the secret life of Estonia’s brown bears, foxes, and raccoon dogs.
Patience is part of the adventure — but with an 80%+ success rate in summer, you’ll likely leave with wild stories (and maybe wild selfies... from a safe distance!)."

9. Wildlife & Nature

Q: "What animals might we see?"
A:
"Beyond brown bears, our forests and bogs teem with:

  • Common: Roe deer, foxes, raccoon dogs (yes, they’re cute but invasive!).

  • Rare (but possible!): Moose, European badger (mäger in Estonian), lynx.

  • Birds: Eagles, cranes, woodpeckers.
Sightings depend on luck, silence, and our guides’ sharp eyes!"

10. Drinking Water

Q: "Is tap water safe to drink?"
A:
"Absolutely. Estonia’s tap water is among the cleanest in the world. Bring a reusable bottle — we’ll refill as needed. It’s good for you and good for our beautiful forests."

11. Practicalities

Q: "Is there Wi-Fi? Will my phone work?"
A:
"Free Wi-Fi at all accommodations. Mobile coverage? 99% of Estonia—even in forests! EU travelers: Use your home plan. Others: Buy a local SIM (€5) for data."

Q: "When’s the best time to visit?"
A:
"May-Sept for warmth; Sept-Oct for golden forests and fewer crowds. Winter? Magical but chilly—ask about our Northern Lights add-ons!"

12. Estonian Culture & Quirks

Q: "What’s up with Estonian saunas?"
A:
"Sauna is our religion! Expect:

  • Mixed or single-sex sessions (varies by location).

  • Nudity common among locals, but tourists can wear swimsuits.

  • *Birch whisk (viht) optional—try it for a true Estonian ‘massage’!"

Q: "What should I know about Estonian culture?"
A:
"Estonians are a delightful mix of quiet humor and fierce independence. A few friendly tips:

  • Nature is sacred: don’t be surprised if your guide pauses mid-walk to admire a moss patch.

  • Silence is golden: if an Estonian is quiet, they’re not bored — they’re content.
A heartfelt ‘aitäh’ (thank you) will work wonders!"*

13. Language

Q: "Do I need to speak Estonian?"
A:
"No need — your English-speaking guide has you covered. In cities, English is widely spoken. In rural areas, we’ll charm our way with smiles and occasional hand gestures.
Want bonus points? Try:

  • Tere (TEH-reh) = Hello

  • Aitäh (AI-tah) = Thank you

  • Õlu (OH-loo) = Beer (you’ll use this one a lot, trust us!)."*

14. Sustainability

Q: "How do you protect nature?"
A:
"We:

  • Partner with eco-friendly hotels/service providers

  • Follow ‘Leave No Trace’ in wilderness areas.
Bring your reusable bottle—tap water here is pristine!"

15. Who is this tour best suited for?

Q: "Is this the right tour for me?"
A:
"Wild Estonia is crafted for travelers who crave authentic nature, cultural elegance, and rare wildlife moments — but prefer boutique manors and private guides over crowded buses.
If you love the idea of walking through ancient bogs by day, relaxing in a luxurious manor spa by evening, and waking up to the magic of the Estonian forest — this is your dream tour."

16. Bonus Questions

Q: "Is Estonia part of Scandinavia?"
A:
"No—we’re proudly Baltic! But we share Nordic vibes: saunas, forests, and a love of silence."

Q: "Do I need a visa?"
A:
"Estonia is in the Schengen Zone. Most EU/US travelers need no visa for stays under 90 days.

Q: "What’s unique to buy in Estonia?"
A:
"Handmade woolens (Rõngu socks!), juniper wood crafts, Vana Tallinn liqueur, and dark rye bread (yes, it travels!)."
