Wild Wellness in Lahemaa — 5 Days of Nordic Nature & Renewal

Step into Estonia’s northern wild, where wellness and wilderness intertwine and timeless comfort meets pure nature.
This Wild Wellness Escape combines fresh-air walks, foraging for nature’s own vitamins, and traditional sauna ritualsthat calm body and mind — all while staying in a beautifully restored heritage manor, surrounded by forests, rivers, and the quiet rhythm of the land.

Recent studies show that connecting with nature improves focus, creativity, and emotional balance — something Estonians have known for centuries.
Here, you’ll listen to birdsong instead of notifications, learn about seasonal remedy plants and foraging traditions still alive today, and experience how the Nordic forest refines berries and herbs into the purest nourishment.

And for those with an adventurous spirit, there’s an unforgettable option: spend your final night in a comfortable log-cabin bear hide, deep in the forest, to observe wild brown bears in their natural habitat — a rare, respectful encounter with an impressive 90% chance of sighting.

Five days of slow rhythm, clean air, and timeless well-being — guided, grounded, and deeply restorative.

Day 1: Arrival in Tallinn — A Step Back Through Centuries

Your Wild Wellness journey begins in Tallinn, a city where medieval towers rise above cobbled lanes and the scent of sea salt mingles with history,  where medieval towers pierce the northern sky, red-tiled roofs glow against the sea breeze, and every cobblestone seems to whisper stories — of merchants, monks, and  secrets from centuries past.

A private driver greets you at the airport and whisks you into the Old Town, where you’ll settle into the 4 star boutique accommodation — a 14th century merchant’s house turned boutique retreat. Tucked inside the city’s ancient walls, this historic gem offers the perfect blend of Old World soul and quiet luxury.

Later, your small group will be met by an English-speaking private guide, dedicated exclusively to your party. Together, you'll take a gentle walking tour through UNESCO-listed Tallinn Old Town, exploring hidden courtyards, Gothic spires, artisan studios, and centuries-old alleyways carved by time and trade.

As evening arrives, Tallinn is yours to explore. Whether you choose a tavern lit by candlelight, a modern tasting menu tucked behind medieval walls, or simply a slow walk under the glow of lanterns, this night is your first chapter.

Dinner is not included tonight, but your guide will gladly recommend restaurants tailored to your taste — rustic, refined, or something in between.

Day 2: Lahemaa National Park — Coastal Magic

Morning light filters through the old streets of Tallinn — it’s time to leave the cobblestones behind and journey east into the wild beauty of Lahemaa National Park, one of Europe’s oldest and most captivating nature reserves.
Here, ancient forests, vast bogs, and wind-swept coastlines stretch endlessly toward the Baltic Sea, offering a perfect setting for the next step of your Wild Wellness Escape.

As we drive through pine forests and seaside villages, the air changes — saltier, fresher, alive. A stop at a secluded private beach lets you breathe deeply and tune into the rhythm of the waves.
Seasonal vitamins are included today — quite literally — in the form of fresh air, clean light, and the wild plants that surround you.

Noble Estates & Raw Wellness

Now leave mermaids for a while to step back in time at Palmse Manor, to feel the touch of manor lady’s life. A meticulously restored 17th-century estate seems frozen in another era. Its golden halls and manicured gardens evoke the elegance of Estonia’s noble past and tell stories of Baltic-German aristocracy.

In the remedy garden, meet Estonia’s seasonal flowers and healing herbs. Here, every plant has a purpose: calming, cleansing, invigorating. The scents of thyme, yarrow, and mint drift through the air as you learn how these ancient plants are still used for wellbeing in modern Estonia.

Then, it’s time to let go — body and mind — in a traditional sauna ritual that draws on centuries of local wisdom. Guided by the gentle hands of our host, the warmth, birch whisks, and herbal steam release tension and restore balance.

Be curious. Be open. Feel the transformation that simplicity can bring.

Fresh local snacks and herbal infusions are served — a taste of Estonian wellness at its purest.

The result? Food that’s not only rich in flavor, but also as fresh and pesticide-free as nature allows.

Day 3 – Mystical bog — Estonia’s Oldest and Wildest Playground.

Morning breaks soft and golden — perhaps the sky never quite turned dark at all. During Estonia’s “white nights,” even the horizon glows in midsummer twilight.
If the weather is kind, early risers can welcome the day with a refreshing swim in the Baltic Sea or a quiet walk along the shore, where waves whisper against the sand.

After breakfast, your path leads east through the forests and winding roads of Lahemaa National Park, far from the rush of the world and deep into one of Estonia’s most ancient landscapes — the bog.
These untouched wetlands are thousands of years old: a mosaic of mosses, mirror-like pools, and fragrant pines. The trail is easy and accessible, but the experience feels otherworldly — a peaceful, grounding immersion in nature’s oldest rhythm.

And today’s journey takes us along the winding roads of Lahemaa, through dense forests and far from the noise of civilization right into bog, invariable through thousands of years.

The trail is accessible and easy to walk — no strenuous hiking required — yet it offers an unforgettable immersion into Estonia’s primeval landscapes.

Here begins another hike, guided by nature’s own calendar. Together with your knowledgeable guide, you’ll learn about the local tradition still alive foraging - how the bog provides its hidden treasures — edible berries, medicinal herbs, and wild mushrooms — all refined by Nordic sunlight into pure, nutrient-rich superfoods.
You’ll discover how foraging connects us back to the forest and how these wild plants nourish not only the body but also the mind — a natural way to boost vitality, focus, and calm.

We kindly take what bog and forest offer us.

After a mindful walk, embracing silence, foraging vitamins, polyphenols and anions, we appreciate a  picnic on the lakeside (included).Local cheeses, herbal teas, and wild flavours gathered from the forest.
This is a moment to simply be — journaling, forest-bathing, or dipping your feet in clear water.

Let us still stay in calmness and connection with nature, with ourselves. Is it journaling, lake-bathing or forest-bathing — luxurious stillness is yours.

After loading we Make It Wild. Our guide, as You have noticed already, is as contradictory as Estonia: ultramodern citizen with a heart of a fairy. She has a Surprise Workshop for You. So You can take a piece of foraging at home.

And after recharging, it’s time to Make It Wild.

Our guide — part modern naturalist, part forest fairy — has prepared a Surprise Workshop, where the morning’s foraged herbs become something to take home:  essence of Lahemaa.

As the day softens, return to the Heritage Manor Hotel.
The spa and saunas await — gentle heat, hot tubs, and treatments designed to let the wild stillness sink deeper into your skin.

Dinner at the Manor Restaurant invites you once again to savour the land’s pure flavours.
And if the sky blushes late into the night, join your guide by the sea for a quiet sunset walk — your front-row seat to the endless northern light.

Day 4 – : Anions overloaded

You wake to the hush of the Vihula wilderness — perhaps for the last time during this adventure. Tonight, you may choose to spend the night in a bear hide, or simply rest, feeling more deeply reconnected with the best person in the world — yourself.

The sea at Käsmu whispers salt-kissed secrets, while the pine forests of Altja hum with ancient clarity. On this day, we walk — not to arrive, but to absorb. Two gentle hikes (4 km and 3 km) lead us through Lahemaa’s coastal magic, where every breath is a gift: rich in anions, those invisible mood-lifters that tickle your cells and clear your mind.

These forests are also alive with wildlife. If luck walks beside us, we may spot a moose stepping through the trees, a deergrazing at the forest edge, or perhaps a quick flash of a fox or badger crossing the trail. In wild nature, nothing is guaranteed — and that’s what makes every encounter a quiet gift.

We might pop into Käsmu Maritime Museum, where stories of sails and storms linger in the air. But mostly, we’re outside — soaking up light, taking pictures that smell of wind and moss, and letting nature do its quiet work.

This isn’t just a walk. It’s a recharge. Anions boost brain’s oxygen levels resulting in higher alertness, decreased drowsiness, and more mental energy. A flirtation with wildness. A reminder that heritage lives not only in buildings, but in the way pine needles crackle underfoot and sea spray kisses your cheeks.

And then? Altja Tavern awaits. Rustic, rooted, and ready to feed you like you’ve earned it. Because you have.

We do not offer group menu for Your best experience, You choose, You pay.

In the afternoon  your evening unfolds in two directions — both equally rich in experience.

If you’ve chosen one more wild adventure, it’s time to leave for your night in the bear hide. A light dinner will be served there, and you’ll return in the morning around 9 a.m. for breakfast and a refreshing shower — full of memories from the night.

If you prefer to stay at the manor, the evening is yours for relaxation. You may enjoy your prebooked massages or eco-friendly treatments for the face, body, hands, feet, or eyes — or simply unwind in peaceful stillness.

As night falls, dinner awaits once more in the Manor House Restaurant.
For your best experience, we don’t offer a fixed group menu — you choose what inspires you, and you pay directly.

Optional: Spend the night in a bear hide (€170 per person, 1 hour away). A light dinner is included, and you’ll be driven back for breakfast. Read more about the bear hide experience

Day 5 – Departure: Quiet Reflections and Last Glances

(Program ends in Tallinn at 14:00. Option to extend the tour to Day 6.)

If the weather is kind and the morning invites us early, there’s time for a gorgeous sunrise — perhaps even a refreshing swim in the Baltic Sea, or a gentle walk along the shore where waves meet wilderness.

After days steeped in the hush of forests, the salt-kissed breeze of the coast, the quiet mystery of bogs, and the warmth of wood-fired saunas, we greet the morning in the timeless embrace of Vihula Manor. Over a slow, soul-nourishing breakfast, we savor the last tastes of the wild — and the stories we’ve gathered along the way.

By midday, we turn our path toward Tallinn, carrying with us the scent of pine, the echo of birdsong, and the calm that only nature can bestow. Though the road bends back to the city, the journey continues — in memory, in spirit, and in the quiet ways the wilderness lingers within us.

Whether you leave Estonia today or choose to acclimatize gently in Tallinn, the day is yours.

Optional Day 6 – Acclimatization with City Life

If this is your final morning in Tallinn — perhaps with the rustle of Old Town streets below, or in another quiet corner of the city — your private transfer will bring you to the airport at your preferred time.

If you didn’t explore Tallinn’s Old Town on your first day, now is the perfect moment to discover its cobblestone charm, hidden courtyards, and centuries-old stories.

Though the tour ends, Estonia leaves a mark:
the stillness of the bogs,
the rustling forest where the bear appeared,
the golden light over manor rooftops,
and the feeling that time — for a little while — slowed just for you.

You came for something different.
You leave with something unforgettable.
